About Us

Open Data Center Alliance

Formed in 2010, the Open Data Center Alliance (ODCA) is a unique consortium of leading global IT organizations dedicated to accelerating adoption of interoperable solutions and services for cloud computing.

Through the development of requirements and work by our technical expert pool, we engage enterprise IT as well as the providers of cloud products and services to ensure availability of a choice of solutions and services meeting ODCA requirements in the marketplace.

Our leadership is comprised of senior IT executives from BMW, Capgemini, CenturyLink, China Unicom, Deutsche Bank, Infosys, Intel, National Australia Bank, and SAP.

We came together to deliver a unified voice for emerging data center and cloud computing requirements. Our mission is to speed the migration to cloud computing by fostering an ecosystem built on openness and interoperability. We do this by:

  • Helping to align cloud service providers with customers by identifying customer requirements for cloud adoption.
  • Developing usage models based on best practices that help customers quickly integrate cloud services.
  • Influencing industry innovation:
    • Facilitating service and solution selection through ODCA tools and resources.
    • Promoting available services and solutions through ODCA programs.
    • Sharing deployment best practice stories to help leverage insight to a wide variety of enterprises.
  • Collaborating with industry standards bodies to drive standards development toward more openness and interoperability.
